Day 3 was a much more relaxed affair. With only a 4 ish hour walk to the end, we were able to set a very leisurely pace. Not only did we laze about the hut for plenty of coffee, but we walked back up the way we’d come yesterday for a bit, just to see the early morning views.
Eventually though, we started our way down the hill and out to the end. We took a long lunch stop at Routeburn flats hut and waited for the rain clouds to come over. Sure enough, by the time we got to the end, it was raining quite a bit. Successful Fiordland experience!
