Melbourne with the 70-300

That’s right, I had another lens to test! So an a morning walk while commuters were going about their daily routine, I got out and poked around some of the buildings in the CBD with the long lens. Personal favourite was the RMIT campus – so many interesting buildings and textures!

One of the city workers spotted my camera and recommended I go to a light festival at the end of October. I guess my accent didn’t stick out too much, (or perhaps there’s heaps of Kiwis in Melbourne) as he was taken aback when I said I was from Wellington. “Is that near Christ-town? With the earthquakes?”

All of these photos are at the maximum 300mm, and all set at f/4. Still very impressed with the focal depth of the lenses and the reasonable softness of the out-of-focus areas
