The stomping ground with the Pergear f/1.4

Look, this lens is cheap. It’s an f/1.4 for less than 200USD for goodness sake! I don’t expect pristine images or buttery bokeh, but I think what I’ve got is pretty damned good. I went for a jaunt around the local streets to see just how shallow the lens will go.

Short answer: VERY.

I’m also loving the old school feel of both this and the Sigma lens – they both have on-body aperture selection, rather than it all being through menus and scroll wheels. I’m such a big fan of it, I can’t work out why this feature disappeared for a couple of decades. People didn’t like tactile interfaces? Weird.

I think this lens and I will get on well indeed!
